Joint FIP/WHO guidelines on good Pharmacy Practice
Under the World Health Organization (WHO)’s Revised Drug Strategy adopted by the World Health Assembly in 1986, WHO organized two meetings on the role of the pharmacist, in Delhi, India in 1988 and in Tokyo, Japan in 1993. This was followed by the adoption, in May 1994, of the World Health Assembly Resolution WHA47.12 on the role of the pharmacist, in support of the WHO Revised Drug Strategy.

FIP Statement of Policy on pharmacists’ roles in supporting patient safety
This Statement of Policy is based on the reference document ‘Patient safety: Pharmacists’ role in delivering medications without harm’ to be published in 2020 which aims to serve as a platform to inform policy and practice development of patient safety initiatives internationally. The Statement of Policy is intended to support these initiatives, with a focus on medication safety.
Vaccination policy conference for FIP Member Organisations
The conference provided excellent presentations and rich discussions, which showed not only the vital importance of vaccines for people of all ages, and particularly for children and older adults, but also the key roles that pharmacists play in improving awareness and trust in vaccines, and in increasing vaccination coverage and uptake.
